The Nazrani Sourcing Standard.

Every SKU lists a verifiable origin at the village or estate level. We refuse blends across origins, even where it would lower cost. Geographical Indication (GI) tags are honoured strictly — we will not list a product as Tellicherry Pepper or Marayoor Jaggery unless every gram in the lot has come from the protected region.

Reviewed every harvest. We accept India Organic (NPOP) certification, or our own field visit when a smallholder cannot afford certification but otherwise meets the standard. Soil tests are reviewed annually; water source upstream of agricultural runoff is required.

Every facility we work with is FSSAI-registered and inspected. We publish a list of permitted process aids on our website; anything outside that list is grounds for delisting. Cold-chain integrity is maintained for honey, ghee, and chyawanprash.

Purchase prices are documented and benchmarked against the previous-month mandi rate; we pay at or above. Tribal cooperatives — Kurichiya, Paniya, Adiya — are prioritised for forest products. We visit one supplier per quarter, unannounced, to keep the standard alive in practice and not just on paper.

The final, unwritten rule. Every batch is tasted blind by the founder and two senior team members against a control sample from the previous lot. Drift in flavour, texture, or aroma triggers re-evaluation. A failed test ends the lot — even when commercial pressure says otherwise.
