An indigenous short-grain aromatic rice from the Wayanad plateau, GI-tagged in 2010. Grown by tribal cultivators in Mananthavady block on rain-fed paddies. Releases a distinctive sandalwood-jasmine fragrance when cooked — traditionally served at weddings and temple feasts.
