Finger Millet (Ragi)

Finger millet (Eleusine coracana) grown rain-fed by smallholder families in eastern Wayanad. The grain is winnowed, cleaned, and stone-ground whole — bran, germ, and endosperm intact — to preserve the calcium, iron, and slow-release carbohydrates that have made ragi a staple weaning and recovery food across South India for generations.
